My blog is about real life,
healing, encouragement and connection. It is about times when life has beaten the crap out of me and times when all the things aligned. It’s about the things I’ve tried that worked and didn’t work, and the insight that always made its way to me whether I thought it would or not. Life is hard work. Healing is hard work. The truth is, the work is up to us. Mentors, coaches, healers and therapists are all wonderful resources, but we have to put in the effort.
My blog is about my own experience with healing. I talk about what has helped, what has hindered, and what has brought me to my knees and inspired me to get back up. When we tell our stories, we create connections and feel less alone. Please leave a comment if something resonates with your experience. I would love to hear from you!
Creating New Trails
“Good things are happening in my life.” This is a new thought I’m trying to create a groove in my brain with. There’s this whole concept about how we create our experience with our thoughts. This may be true, but I’ve always had some anxiety around...
Finding Calm in Times of Uncertainty
Uncertainty can make us feel like the ground beneath us is crumbling. For me, my entire body tenses up and my digestive system usually starts to act up too. The resistance comes on like gangbusters and I find myself spiraling in frantic circles trying to figure out...
Embracing Your Brave
Bravery comes in many forms and conjures a lot of different images. The bravery I am referring to comes in the form of showing up as our messy, beautiful, authentic, imperfect selves. It comes in the form of letting ourselves off the hook and pushing ourselves out of...
Emerging from Darkness
I used to think there was this magical age I would reach when I had it all figured out. When I was twenty, that age was thirty and then when I was thirty, the age became forty. Now that I’m 46, I’ve kind of given up on the notion that I will ever figure it...
Food for (Mental) Health
It all starts with food. What we put in our bodies, is what comes out. If you eat food that causes inflammation and toxicity, your behaviors will reflect that. If you eat food that calms and nourishes your body, that is what your behaviors toward...
Nobody’s Perfect
I know what combination of things to do to feel my best. Over the years I have realized that if I eat a mainly plant and protein based diet, run at least 3 times a week, do yoga once or twice a week, start my mornings with quiet writing time and some meditation,...
Be You, Bravely
Wow. I can’t believe it’s been five years since I’ve looked at this blog. So let me back up a little before we move forward. When I started this blog I was looking for a creative outlet and a place to share my random thoughts about life. I...
Because I said so…or not.
Parenting. There’s no shortage of opinions and advice on this topic. I should know. I’ve spent the majority of my life (up until pretty recently) being a people pleaser. Although I don’t claim to be living without insecurity, there was something about turning 40 that...
Why Blog?
That is precisely the question that has kept me from blogging for the past several years. I was waiting for some huge world altering idea to come to me. Something that would be a crime to keep from everyone. I got nuthin. So the banter in my head continued to conjure...
Real Life Happens
Where do you begin when there isn’t really a starting point? Real life just happens whether we like it or not. It’s not a marathon or even a relay race. There’s nobody to hand the baton to and there aren’t really any rules. Well, except maybe...
